Performance Management

Texas State's Performance Management process is designed to help Bobcat staff set and accomplish goals that align with the University's mission and values. The Performance Management Cycle consists of three phases:

  • The Performance Plan
  • The Mid-Cycle Review
  • The Performance Review

June 1

Staff performance plans become available

This is the phase where supervisors and their direct reports collaborate to set goals and performance expectations for the upcoming year. 
(Plans due on July 31, 2024)

October - November

Mid-cycle review

This is an informal check-in between supervisors and their direct reports to ensure employees are on track to meet the goals established in their performance plan.

April 1

Staff self-assessments become available

Self-assessments are the first step of the performance review phase. Employees start the process by ranking the completion status of their goals in SuccessFactors.

May 31

 Staff performance review deadline

All steps of the performance review must be complete by May 31 in order to be eligible for merit.

Consolidated Workflow

The workflow has been adjusted to minimize steps while continuing to provide both the employee and supervisor review and acknowledgment opportunities.

Other Performance Assessments

Other criteria have been combined into this new section made of three subsections. Performance will be evaluated based on specific competencies and behaviors. 

Progress Updates

Employees are now allowed to provide detailed updates and status reports for each individual goal set in the Performance Plan.
